How you can tune up your car
You don't have to go to a mechanic for every little problem you have with your car, and you most certainly don't have to take a look at your car only when something is not working as is should. That is why a tune up, every now and then, is a good idea and you can do it by your own or with the help of your friends. It can also prevent possible future problems that would have occurred and you can make your car work better, because with time the performance slows down and because it is a slow process people don't get really to realize that until something is wrong.
In order to make a tune up, first put on your oldest and worst clothes because things will get messy and you don't want to ruin your favorite shirt. The first thing to do is to check the oil, it is almost always on the engine and it says "oil" so you will not have problems finding it, but the thing you will have to check for is to see if there is enough of it. A low oil level can cost you a lot in the future, and right now it can save you a costly tune up. Change it every 3 thousand miles or set a number that you feel is good.
Check also the tires on your car, they need to have the exact pressure and be not worn out, if you realize that they are a little old, than consider investing in them, they can also help you safe money in the future. Besides oil you should check also other fluids, they need to have a certain level. Those would be the transmission fluid, radiator fluid, brake fluid and others. Also check the battery and test your tires and in case you feel that anything is not working that well, then make sure to get it checked by a mechanic.
